Case Study - Operating Model Conversion


We converted an acquisition model into an operating model for a Heat-as-a-Service (HaaS) company based in Europe. We added actuals functionality such that the model can be populated with historic management accounts information, as well as other actual performance data.
We also provided a more granular budgeting on a site-by-site basis, and adjusted staff cost workings to allow greater flexibility to adjust headcount and salaries. A dashboard was also added, designed to contain the information required for the company‘s Board papers.




The investors required an updated financial model which accurately and coherently forecasted the key financial KPI's, to gain confidence in their investment.

Allowed for the improved financial monitoring and forecasting of our client’s investment.



A significant part of the work was to convert the hardcoded inputs into calculations which looked at a new, more streamlined and concise inputs sheet we created.

We used best practise improvements to ensure that the model was user friendly, including clear presentation and reducing the file size.


We delivered it in a timely manner due to tight budgeting deadline pressures.
